Munson Curve
Loudness compensation grounded in science, tuned by you
In 1933, Fletcher and Munson proved what every audiophile already suspects: turn the volume down, and your bass and treble vanish. It isn't your equipment — it's your ears. Human hearing is wildly non-linear, and every receiver ships with this problem baked in.
Munson Curve corrects for it in real time. Based on the ISO 226:2003 equal-loudness contours, the algorithm adjusts bass, treble, and subwoofer independently as your volume changes. An intensity dial from 0 to 100% puts you in control of exactly how much correction is applied — from a subtle nudge to full psychoacoustic compensation.
